SNP OFFER 1.5% INCREASE WITHOUT BACKPAY AND PLAN TO PUT IT TO A VOTE

SNP Management have confirmed their plan to only offer a 1.5% pay increase - a pay cut in real terms. Management stated that this would not include any back-pay. Their latest communication to staff suggests they want to put this substandard offer to vote soon.

You and your colleagues can beat back this bad offer as part of a union - join now

Workers know that the cost of living is increasing quickly, and a pay increase that doesn’t keep up with CPI is as good as a pay cut. Sonic Healthcare has had billions in profit over the pandemic, but SNP are offering a real terms wage cut.

SNP management has provided the detail of their pay proposal. You can read it in full here. They remain committed to only increasing your current wages by 1.5%.

SNP management state in their proposal "we are hoping we can make rapid progress with the
bargaining representatives and the unions to be able to present a new CWA to all staff in the near future for consideration and a vote." There are still a large number of outstanding issues that workers want to negotiate over. Things like, fair overtime,  increases to parental leave improvements to employment security.

These tables show what your wages will look like after management's proposed 1.5% pay increase and compares them to the same role in Pathology Queensland.  As you can see, there is a huge disparity and it will only increase over time.

Pathology Queensland scientists won these pay rises by standing united, as union members, and working together to vote down bad offers like this. You and your colleagues can do this too. Only a united workforce can stop such an unfair deal. You and your collegues need to:

  • Join your Union
  • Become a delegate in your workplace.
  • Talk to your colleagues
  • Let them know that they shouldn't accept a sub-standard offer, and fight for a fair deal.
